2010 USACA INSURANCE & MEMBERSHIP
New Insurance and Membership Dues for 2010
Following a period of regional comment and consultation regarding USACA insurance coverage and membership fees, the Board voted unanimously in October 2009 to adopt a national liability and medical insurance policy from January 1st 2010, and also to change membership dues.
The insurance program will be available from January 1st 2010. On that day a one-year national insurance program will come into effect and will cover any league or club that is a member of USACA by virtue of them paying their 2010 membership dues and being in good standing.
One or two clubs or leagues may not want to have this bundled insurance policy. Therefore, each league or club will have the choice to be, or not to be a part of the national policy and buy insurance from a different insurance provider of their choice at their own cost.
Membership Fee Structure and Payment Details for 2010:
With Liability and Medical Insurance - $200/club
Without Liability and Medical Insurance - $100/club
MEDIARelease
Joint MediaRelease issued by the
USA Cricket Association and New Zealand Cricket
The USA Cricket Association (“USACA”) and New Zealand Cricket
(“NZC”) today announced the commencement of formal discussions with
the intention of establishing a strategic partnership agreement between the
two national cricket boards in the near future.
“We are very positive and excited about the benefits our relationship with
NZC can bring to USA Cricket,” stated USACA CEO Don Lockerbie.
“USA Cricket can learn greatly from the experience and knowledge of
NZC, and we believe there are real and significant cricketing benefits and
commercial opportunities possible through this partnership.”
The proposed partnership covers a variety of activities, ranging from the
sharing of coaching and development resources through to the staging of
international cricket fixtures involving the New Zealand BLACKCAPS in
the United States, as well as other joint commercial ventures.
To start the partnership NZC is offering USACA immediate assistance to
prepare its national Under-19 team ahead of the ICC Under-19 World Cup
in January 2010.
“We are looking forward to a long-term partnership with USACA,” stated
NZC CEO Justin Vaughan. “Cricket in the United States is at a very exciting
stage, and we are enthusiastic about the prospect of helping USACA
significantly grow the game in their country. The benefits of cricket
becoming more established in the USA are globally significant for the
sport.”
USACA’s President Gladstone Dainty remarked, “USACA is thrilled at the
opportunity of working with New Zealand Cricket, more so with our Under-
19 squad headed there in early January for the ICC Under-19 Cricket World
Cup.”
The partnership between USACA and NZC is the first of several possible
commercial opportunities for USACA resulting from an RFP issued in July
of this year seeking commercial partners. There were 102 expressions of
interest made from a total of 16 countries to the advertised RFP, with 42
respondents providing a wide gamut of proposed commercial opportunities.

Cricket, with its code of laws has always been regarded as a strong
moral educator. This is particularly important in this age of contempt
for officials and other players in the world of sport. Youngsters
participating in the program develop sportsmanship, life skills,
decision making skills, respect for authority and most of all respect
for their fellow players.
Cricket is an ideal sport for all ages and abilities, apart from the
obvious benefits of sporting activity, such as improving hand-eye
coordination and increased physical fitness, cricket also has a strong
strategy and thinking aspect.
The skills learned in cricket can be equated to life skills such as
patience, determination, communication and above all, team work. These
skills can be nurtured and developed through participation in cricket
and be an asset to any young individual in both everyday life and in
the workplace.
NEW PLAYERS: Please contact orcoca@yahoo.com to join a Youth Cricket Club.
